Defragment Your Hard Drive

If your computer is sluggish, defragment your hard drive in Vista for greater computer efficiency and response time.

  1. Click on the "Start Menu" (bottom left on the toolbar)
  2. Click on "Computer" (mid-right in the "Start" menu). This will bring up a new window with your drives listed in the right-hand side of the window pane.
  3. Right-click on "C" drive or any drive you wish to defragment and clilck on "Properties".
  4. Click on "Tools" (second tab)
  5. Click on "Defragment Now" (second option midway down).
  6. A new box pops up and here you cllick on "Defragment Now" again.
